Tip 2 – Internal Links
So you’ve done one of the hardest jobs and finally started to direct plenty of customers to your website, but your work doesn’t just stop there because you need to keep them there and attract their attention further and encourage their custom. Linking is essential for navigating your customers around your website taking them towards particular products/pages that interest them. You need to think of website users as being lazy; they don’t want to have to search endlessly for what they’re looking for. Therefore, if you are talking about a product on your homepage then create a link from this product, and try and include keywords in these links too because this gives you more ranking in search engines. So, for example, we’re talking about what Silver Sensation as a company offer, and we’re discussing the variety of earrings, rings, necklaces and so on that are available. Therefore we need to create a link to all of these other pages whilst trying to include keywords; e.g. “Silver Sensation have a variety of silver earring jewellery selections” with the “silver earring jewellery” being a link.
Basically, whenever you can link something to somewhere else on your site, try to do so, even if you’re just talking about a general thing that you have more information about on the website. For example, if on your homepage you’re discussing how your company pride themselves on customer care you could link the customer care keywords to another section on customer care. Whilst this may seem a little tedious you should remember that providing ease for your customers leads to better satisfaction, more recommendations and so on but also may result in better ranking in search engine results – which is of course the primary goal of search engine optimization.
Tip 3 – Global Marketing
One mistake a number of companies make is the limitation of their website to one specific country. Whilst your company may be based in England for example if it is reasonably foreseeable that someone from another country could be interested in your website, or product, then you should begin marketing your website internationally and there are numerous ways you can do that.
One simple, free and effective way to draw international customers to your website is through blogging and online communities. Both raise awareness of your company and return you in search engine results. If there is an online community discussing specifically what your website is offering then try and get a link placed in there.
If you are quite a large company and wish for other countries to be able to access your website, you could offer the option of translating your website into many different languages. Obviously this will cost something to set up but is definitely a good idea if you wish to properly market your website in many different countries.
There are so many search engine optimization tips and helpful SEO tools out there that it’s important you are getting them from a trustworthy site like www.searchengineoptimization.com as many websites may offer you false information and it may push you further away from achieving the number of visitors you wish to obtain.
